Adoption is a huge step for anyone and we know how much work it can be to go through the process of adopting an animal. We wanted to highlight some of the best places to adopt from in Canada! There are so many options but here are the 5 we like the best!
1. Save A Life Canada Animal Rescue Society
This animal shelter is based out of Nova Scotia and does everything it can to help get its animals adopted. They hold fundraisers and online donation events to raise awareness and support for the good work they do finding these animal their forever homes!

2. Ontario SPCA and Humane Society
This is where we got our cat Uno! They were fantastic when we got all the adoption paperwork done and you could just tell that they treat their shelter animals very well. They have shelter centres all over Ontario so there are many options for you based on where you are located.

3. DogTales
Dog Tales is a world-renowned dog rescue and horse sanctuary set on an incredible 50 acres of green fields, rolling hills, and wooded areas in King City, Ontario. They have dogs and cats available for adoption and their photography for their website is on point! All the animals look like stars and should be adopted ASAP. They provide medical care and training to all the animals while they await adoption. This place truly cares for the animals and it shows.

4. Second Chance Animal Rescue Society
This animal shelter is based in Alberta and has a huge collection of amazing animals that are ready to have a place to call home! They care for the protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering. They even have an adoption counter on their website to show how many animals were adopted from they shelter (over 13 thousand adoptions so far)! I think that is very uplifting to see!

5. BC SPCA
This is the main SPCA for British Columbia and they have a lot of resources to help these animals stay safe and cared for until they can be adopted. They are currently running a calendar contest to have your animals featured in their calendar! They also share adoption stories to encourage others to adopt!
